My life has changed tremendously since entering FMS.
I used to think I want to be a director of films, but I realised I’m in the wrong course. Well I had a back-up and that’s advertising.
I’ve come to love advertising and the fact that I’m doing something with my energy, influencing people and Pop culture. With every account comes a different experience and I’m loving it.
I attended the World Effies Festival thursday and friday. Looking at all the industry people there, I was blown away by the ideas and the energy that this industry had.
There, I met Peter Soh, Zig’s brother, one of the big shots in Saatchi, he was a Singaporean. he travelled the world and is now bases in Shanghai. He changed my perception of China, made me realised that it IS rising and I will have my break there.
David Droga is another inspiration. His talk blew me away, with his damn creative campaigns he done for UNICEF and ECKO. And he’s young.
These people made me realised that I’m in an industry which requires your time and energy. Made me think about my life goals, do I want to end up as a rich and successful bastard but without anyone to share my success with? Not that they are. Just that I’m no genius, I have to work hard to get where I see myself going and I will. But at what cost? I don’t know.
My point being, I don’t want to die old, lonely and single. haha. Sad but possible.
I look at one friend of mine and she want to get into poly. But she hasn’t done her proper research and want to just dive in Mechatronic Engineering because her grades can’t get her elsewhere, and she keeps saying my mother said.
What she doesn’t realise is that she is living her life not her mother. Planning is an important process if you want to live your life to the fullest and I’m trying my best to do it.
And yes, I still do want to retire at 40. Which means I have to be rich and famous by 30. LOL. Well David Droga was a Creative Director at 21 years old. hmmm lets see, I’ll be serving my FUCKING NS during that time! WOW! What a great use of my life! All hail the emperor.
