On Innocence and Kids

By ivanyeow

On two different days, I saw two different kids. They both left an impression on me.

One boy was from Henry Park primary school. he was eating a bag of potato chips and sharing it with his friend. After a while he said

“Last one. Can’t help it. Prices are increasing nowadays”.

This boy was speaking like an adult, on how mas selamat’s escape was such a simple thing to figure out. he just grew up too fast.

The other incident happened when I was on the bus too. this primary school girl was fighting with her brother. When he sat on a seat and refused to moved to the inner side of the seat.

The girl said: ” You’re just like a Singaporean”.

Through their interactions I found out that they were Taiwanese. But her sentence really struck me in the face real hard.

And she’s not the only one. Someone else did tonight. But nevermind.

I’m just glad my sister still cries when my brother spoilt her favourite toy.
